Skillogalee Rosé is produced from fruit off dry-grown vines on the Skillogalee estate in the Clare Valley. Sourced from low-yielding red grapes varieties, including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, which are grown on the high sloping contours of our family-owned property.
Hand-selected fruit is harvested specifically for this wine, with the blend of varieties changing each vintage, and results in a stylish wine with intense fruit character and varietal expression. The fruit is blended when received at the winery, destemmed, and chilled before being pressed. To achieve the desired level of colour and flavour extraction, the juice is left on skins in the press for several hours. The free-run juice and light pressings are then cold-settled, racked, and undergo cool fermentation to retain the delicate flora fruit characters of the grape varieties.
