Our 2022 Shiraz has beautiful, lifted pepper and raspberry characters on the nose. On the palate it has lovely fine tannins, a plush mid palate and succulent acidity. It is drinking well now but will continue to evolve well in bottle over the next 4-6 years.
2022 was a milk year with higher than average night time temperatures which lead to perfect cool climate conditions for our Shiraz. The fruit was harvested in mid-April when it was showing lovely white pepper and raspberry characters. The fruit was fermented with an inoculated yeast in small open fermenters. The fermenters were either hand plunged or pumped over to ensure good flavour and colour extraction and vibrant fruit characters. Following fermentation, the wine was pressed to a mix of new (20%) and older oak. The wine was matured in oak for 10 months prior to bottling.
